Urban Tree Walk & Survey

Tuesday, April 28th

Starts at 5:30 pm

Meet at the Blaisdell Rain Garden (32nd & Blaisdell)

The Urban Tree Project is a two to three year project, with a simple goal – maximize the tree plantings in the Lyndale Neighborhood so our community can enjoy the benefits of an urban forest for years to come.

The first step in the project is to conduct a tree survey to see where we’re missing boulevard trees in the neighborhood.  The committee will be conducting the survey on Tuesday, April 28th.  The committee and volunteers will be gathering at the Blaisdell Rain Garden (32nd and Blaisdell) at 5:30 pm for a quick orientation from the Minneapolis Park’s Forestry Department.

After the orientation, we’ll divide the neighborhood and volunteers up into small groups to conduct the survey.  We’re hoping to have enough people to cover the whole neighborhood in a couple of hours.

To sign up to help with the tree survey or with the Urban Forest Project contact Mark Hinds at 612.824.9402 ext 16 or mark@lyndale.org.
