Lyndale Neighborhood Business Association

The purpose of the Lyndale Neighborhood Business Association (LNBA) is to provide a forum to bring together Lyndale businesses in ways that builds connections between businesses, strengthens individual businesses, improves the economic environment of the neighborhood, and is a benefit to the community as a whole.

Membership

The Lyndale Neighborhood Business Association is open to all commercial, retail, office, consulting, and home-based businesses.  The geographic area for the Lyndale Business Association will be Lake Street on the North, Lyndale on the West, 36th Street on the South, and I-35W on the East.

The steering committee will be responsible for defining membership requirements and if there will be any associated membership dues.  There are no dues for 2009.

Activities

LNBA will be responsible for recommending and implementing economic development programs for the neighborhood and for building strong connections between neighborhood businesses.

The Lyndale Neighborhood Business Association meets on the third Thursday of the month.  The meeting time and locations rotate to help make sure that all businesses have a chance to attend the meetings.

You can also join a LNBA Discussion email list.  The purpose of the list is to provide a forum for Lyndale businesses to communicate with each other.

LNA Environment Committee

The Environment Committee is responsible for working on environmental issues affecting the Lyndale Neighborhood.  The Environment Committee will be responsible for making recommendations to the Board related to environmental issues, programs, and projects impacting the neighborhood.

The LNA Environment Committee meets on the first Tuesday of the Month from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  During the summer of 2009 the committee will be meeting in various outdoor locations around the neighborhood.

Analysis of Part 1 Crimes in South Minneapolis

Is Lyndale getting safer?  It’s a basic question that we ask almost everyday in the LNA office.  Unfortunately, the answer is too often driven more by perception than reality.  To try and get to the bottom of this question we’ve been working on an analysis of historic crime trends in Lyndale and the neighborhoods surrounding Lyndale.
