The City of Minneapolis, Department of Community Planning & Economic Development (CPED) has established a city-wide, low-interest loan program to provide financing for energy efficiency upgrades to large (structures of 4 stories or more containing more than 10 dwelling units) Multi-Family rental properties.

The program will help remove financial barriers and allow property owners to obtain the capital needed to make energy efficiency improvements. Loans will be structured in such a way that the energy savings would fully or substantially offset the debt service on the loan. The loans would target significant energy system upgrades including boilers, water heating and distribution systems, and control systems.Minimum Requirements for Eligibility

As an introduction, a goal for today’s meeting was established and agreed upon by members of the Committee: our objective was to engage in further discussion regarding the proposed locations of the transit station and arrive at a final recommendation to be presented to policy makers.

The First Annual Lyndale Home Tour will take place on September 17 from 2 to 5 pm.  The tour is being organized by LNA's Housing Committee. The tour will feature a guided tour of  four homes starting at 3223 Blaisdell Avenue.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore diverse housing styles and hear from homeowners about their experiences and ideas. These homes have been transformed top to bottom while preserving their original charm and character.  Some homes have been featured on the Mpls/St Paul Home Tour or Lyndale Garden Tours (and now you can personally see inside).

The plans for a newly constructed Nicollet Avenue took a step forward this week.  On Tuesday, August 23rd the City's Transportation and Public Works Committee approved the 30 percent layout for the project.  The 30 percent layout established things such as street width, turning lanes, stop lights, etc... that allow the design team to move forward with the final design for the project.

At the July 27, 2011 Nicollet Avenue Steering Committee meeting the City of Minneapolis released updated layout information for Nicollet Avenue.
